Moto G was launched back in November last year in Brazil, US and some European countries. Back then, Motorola had promised to bring the budget android smartphone to India in Jan 2014. As we reported sometime back, Motorola had some issues striking a deal with offline retailers and hence they decided to team up with Flipkart and others to have an online-only launch. In markets like India, sub-15k segment has some serious competition, but mostly had Indo-Chinese brands like Micromax, Gionee, Lava/XOLO and Karbonn competing with each other....

The loophole seems to be a SS7 flaw in the architecture of the signalling system which is devised to allow mobile phone roaming across telecom providers. SS7 signalling protocol was developed way back in 1975 and now in the current cellular setup it is used to perform transitional functions including, prepaid billing, SMS, local number portability among a host of other services. Flags were raised in 2014 when it was reported that a protocol vulnerability of the SS7 will allow non state actors to track the movement of cellphone users from any location across the world with a success rate of 70 percent....

Xiaomi addressed the situation with a statement, which reads, “At Xiaomi, our endeavor is to provide the best Smart TV experience to all our Mi Fans and we are constantly working on improving it. While we have pushed the latest Android TV update to over 3 Million devices, we regret to inform that android updates cannot be made available to Mi TV 4 55″ because of the custom chip used in the device on account of its unique design which does not support the requirement for Android TV codecs....

In our books, the number one phone of the year would be the phone number one, or rather the Phone (1), from Carl Pei’s new initiative after going One Minus from OnePlus, Nothing. Yes, we saw no end of flagships with fancy specs and innovative features launched in the year, but when the tech dust settled, we think the best of them all was one driven by a mid-segment chip that would set no benchmark records, with just two cameras on the back, and an interface that was buggy as an autofocus abbreviation!...

And it’s not RED. This special edition OnePlus 5T comes in gorgeous white color on the back with red accents for the alert slider. As you would expect, there is also a Star Wars logo etched in red on the back. We didn’t get to see the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition phone in person, but OnePlus played a teaser video at the event. As per our sources, the phone is expected to launch on December 16th, a day after Star Wars: The Last Jedi gets released....

OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition: Design and Display In terms of design, the phone features a carbon fiber finish with orange accents the extend all the way from the edges and the bottom to the camera module on the rear. Towards the front, the phone flaunts a 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 3120×1440 pixels screen resolution, 516ppi pixel density, HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass 5. The display goes all the way to the edges to give it a premium look and feel, and also offers an immersive experience while consuming content....

Now, traditionally you would think that the more expensive of the two comes from Apple and the more affordable one from OnePlus. After all, OnePlus has been known to bundle top of the line specs with surprisingly affordable price tags whereas Apple, on the other hand, has been accused of being ridiculously overpriced more than once. These two companies, for a major part of their lives, have played these roles where one introduced flagship killers and the other introduced, well, flagships....

Well, sort of… Looks a little more mainstream That is because while the OnePlus 8T is an upgrade of the OnePlus 8 that was launched earlier in 2020, it is perhaps the first T series device from OnePlus that features the same processor as its predecessor. Whereas T devices in the past always had the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chip, the OnePlus 8T sticks to the Snapdragon 865 we saw on the OnePlus 8, and does not go for the 865+ that some more recent flagships have used....

The OnePlus Band features what the company refers to as an active design, with an IP68 (and 5ATM) rating that keeps it protected from exposure to dust and water. It has a detachable tracker module that allows for customization and makes it easier for you to switch between different straps. Upfront, there is a 1.1-inch AMOLED display — a colored one with a screen resolution of 126 x 294 pixels....

The Oppo Enco Free follows the ongoing trend of truly-wireless earbuds and adopts a similar design language, except for the added silicone ear tips. Instead of offering a single kind of ear tip, the Enco comes with two distinct designs: in-ear tips for a more secure fit and semi-in-ear tips for offering some breathability. One of the interesting highlights of the earbuds is the Binaural Simultaneous Bluetooth transmission, which claims to offer a synchronized audio experience by delivering sound to both ears simultaneously....

Oppo has treated the back with Carbon Fibre and an Oppo logo that comes etched in Gold. The Lamborghini Logo is placed on the lower half. Apart from the design changes, the Lamborghini edition Oppo Find X also comes equipped with a Super VOOC charging that is capable of charging the device from 0-100% at just 35 minutes, as fast as a Lamborghini! Well, this isn’t the first time we have seen smartphone manufacturers partnering with automobile companies....

Today’s update brings several other exciting features as well, including several new themes and hundreds of emoji, some of these features had been available for a while in the beta, and it’s nice to know that they have been ironed out for the final product. As for the existing users who paid for the app, the company is providing them with $5 worth theme pack for free. “We’re focused not only on reaching more users with our powerful technology, but on building great content and features to engage them,” said the company’s CEO Jon Reynolds in an official statement....

In terms of design, the Realme Buds Air 2 come with a reasonably mainstream look and this time cannot be accused of being inspired by that fruity company in Cupertino. The buds come in a glossy case that is squoval (squarish oval) and compact and light enough, and has a single LED in front to show battery status. The buds themselves are about four grams each, and come with a stem and a top that are slightly shiny – our Closer Black one had dark blue accents on it....

Not Pro, but looks like it…GOOD! The Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro are two different devices but you actually cannot tell them apart. They are identical when it comes to design, which honestly is a great thing because both the phones look phenomenal. The two are actually amongst the best phones we have seen from Xiaomi in terms of design. You know how there are some phones with great fronts but just average backs or vice-versa?...
